Very nice HDTV Sound System

| This is a very good sound system at a reasonable price and with the quality you expect from Samsung. It is not overly difficult to set up and the sound is very nice. Overall a nice buy and am satisfied. |
Love it

| Love this surround sound system. Does everything you would expect from a boxed HT system. Got it with a 50" plasma and it works great. Hooked up with HDMI cable and digital optical cable for surround sound and DVD picture. Sounds awesome with movies...star trek, new wolverine x-men movie etc. This is the easiest thing in the world to hook up anyone can do it. |

Overall the system is good, very easy to set-up. Just un-pack and color match the speaker cables, plug-it in and your done.
It could have been 5 stars but it doesn't have an AM tunner, most sporting events are broadcast on AM so its a big deal for me.
The USB port is great, just plug-in your drive and set the input to AUX and hit play. In a hurry, you don't even need to hook up the system to a tv if you just need it for music.
Image quality is good, PS3 takes care of that. Using the system just for the audio.
Pros:
Great Sound
Easy Set-up
Good image quality
Cons:
No AM Tunner
Speaker wires could have been of a thiker gauge
Subwoofer could have had a screen to protect it |
Great for $200

I wanted a cheap system so I purchased this one from my local store. It's fairly easy to set up and use. When I plugged my iphone in, I'm used to things working instantly but with this system, you need to wait about 10 seconds for it to recognize the iphone and then play music.
Sound quality if good. Remote is easy to use.
All in all, happy with my purchase. I'd recommend it for someone who wants a cheap system. Keep in mind...for $200 you are getting a dvd player, receiver, 5 speakers, 1 sub-woofer. It's inexpensive and you get a lot for the low price point. But cheaper things do tend to break more |
Good Basic Unit If You have a Samsung TV
|
| Review Date: January 8, 2010 |
| Reviewer: Glen A. Nelson, SF Bay Area |
Unit has OK sound. It's nowhere near 1000 watts though. more like 100. Easy to assemble. If you need sound through the unit from the TV, you will need a fiber-optic TosLink cable in addition to the HDMI cable. Our TV, Samsung 42B450 only does audio-in on HDMI (ref p.30 in stereo user manual#. The system works great w/Samsung's AnyNet, 1 remote controls it all. DVD plays all the disks we have- CD-R w/MP3, DVD-RW and R. Bass is too strong at factory settings.
Pros; low cost, goes well w/other Samsung equipment, sound is OK, small center speaker, CD-rip capable, USB and I-POD support.
Cons; Front panel buttons not lighted, 1000 watt claim is a joke, proper cables are not included #HDMI and TosLink)
Overall, we like and will keep the unit. It's for our formal living room and is not the main system. |
